When and How to Reboot Your Proxies on New System Plans

Having Issues with Your Proxies? Try a Reboot!

If your proxies aren't working—whether they've stopped, slowed down, or are acting up—a reboot can often fix the problem quickly. Just like restarting a computer, rebooting your proxy server refreshes the system and resolves common performance issues.

When Is Proxy Rebooting Useful?
Rebooting is especially helpful when:

  • Your proxies have stopped working.

  • They are running slower than usual.

  • An application on the proxy is frozen or unresponsive.

This reboot option is available for New System plans and is one of the easiest ways to get things running smoothly again.

What to Do Before Rebooting?

Check Your Authentication Method:

Make sure you are using the correct authentication method in your account. New System proxy plans support the following formats:

    • username:password

    • ip:port

    • Or both at the same time

Note: Incorrect authentication is often the main cause of connectivity issues.

Step Before Rebooting: Ensure there are no active sessions/processes that could be disrupted by the reboot.

How to Reboot Your Proxy Server?
1. Go to your service dashboard.
2. Click on the service you'd like to reboot.
3. Click Reboot Proxy Server.
4. Click Confirm Reboot.

Reboot Behavior

When a reboot is triggered:

  • The system applies a 15-minute cooldown between reboot actions. If you try again during this period, you will see a message with the remaining time.
  • The reboot request is processed immediately, and the system responds instantly without waiting for the reboot to finish.
  • The reboot process takes approximately 5 minutes and runs in the background. During this time, the service is temporarily restarting.

Important Note

During reboot:

  • Proxies will be unavailable for up to 5 minutes
  • Active connections will be interrupted
  • The service will automatically return to normal after completion

Once the reboot is complete, your proxy server will resume normal operation automatically.
