How to Use Residential Proxy Plans with User/Pass Format
Note: This article refers to the old‑system residential proxy plans. For the new system (you receive user/password credentials directly from your plan), please refer to:

If you have one of our residential proxy plans (old system) and need to use the proxy in a user/pass format (e.g. http://user:pass@ip:port), You can follow these steps to configure your proxy:
1. Assign Your IP (Mandatory Step)
The first step you need to take is to assign your IP address. This step is essential to ensure the security of the proxy usage and accurate identification. Assigning a specific IP helps maintain your privacy and ensures the safety of your data while browsing the internet.
2. Set Up a Random User/Pass
After assigning your IP, you can use any random username and password. This means you are not restricted to using specific credentials, giving you more flexibility in managing your proxy settings.
Example of Proxy Format
Once you have completed the above steps, your proxy will look something like this:

- x: The username you choose (random).
- y: The password you choose (random).
- a.b.c.d: The IP address you have assigned.
- z: The port number.
Why Do You Need These Steps?
These steps are designed to simplify the process of setting up your proxy and ensure compatibility with tools that support the `user/pass` format. By using this method, you can take advantage of the flexibility and high security that residential proxies offer without worrying about compatibility with traditional authentication systems.
